[Manwol looks thoughtful at his expression while holding a sunflower in her hand, then]

You can cry, Mandricardo. This is as much for us as it is for him.

[And now the tears are going, like all he needed was her permission to stop holding them back.]

It's unfair. Why him...?

[Manwol's quiet as he cries. She doesn't offer any of the usual platitudes, instead she just looks down at the sunflowers they're holding.]

Would knowing give you peace?

[is Mandricardo the type who finds solace in answers? Or is he like her, the kind of person who refuses them all, and stews in her own grief?]

...I don't know. Maybe. I think with death like that...you always want to know why. Why and how.

[He lets out a stuttering sigh.]

It's not like it justifies anything, I think. But...it's calming in it's own way. Like...it focuses you. Just a bit.

Then we'll find out. Bradley told me that he wouldn't care, but... we're the ones who have to keep on going without him. We have a right to find out what we can.

[she picks a calla lily to add to her sunflower pile]
