[Mandricardo is standing near what looks like...two dirt mounds. There are bouquets of flowers on top of them, and in his good hand is a spade - his hand is dirty.]

[He turns at the sight of Sakyou. He's definitely looking better and isn't just seeping blood all over the place, but he hasn't changed or cleaned up, and looks like a nightmare.]

[He offers the other a confused look.]

...Um. You okay?

[modissty]

[He'll notice the dirt mounds in a second (probably), but first he's definitely extremely distressed by the sight of all this BLOOD, HELLO. CARRIE????]

S'fine— [A mumbled slur as he moves closer, hands just sort of hovering in the air like he wants to help but doesn't know where to start.] Is that all yours? You've been healed, yes? Are you still injured anywhere? Do you need bandages--?

[Just this wall of worried questions...]

[He really kind of seems to be squinting at Sakyou, his eyebrows furrowed in a sort of bewildered expression.]

Um. No. I...think you're worried about me? I'm fine.

[He just shrugs, turning back to the mounds of dirt.]

[YEAH HE'S WORRIED. He's not as good at controlling his expressions like this, so it's pretty easy to tell that. Anyway, he's just sort of - he kind of reaches out but retracts his hand before he can actually touch Mandricardo, because the bewilderment is bewildering to him and he's not sure what to do.]

You don't look fine.

[duranduel]

He just...stares at the hand and the way it retracts and...shakes his head.]

[He just seems...distant.]

Oh, should I smile to show that I'm fine? [And he does smile!] Here you go. That tells you I'm fine, right?

[Concerned Confusion Intensifies. Someone who is not drunk needs to be puzzling this out...]

No, it doesn't. That's the opposite. That's less fine? That doesn't seem fine at all.

[......He looks a bit frustrated, now.]

Frowning, then.

[He's frowning!]

...Do you not remember how emotions work?

[He's just squinting and looking increasingly distressed about this...]

[He looks very self-conscious, suddenly?]

No, I definitely do, I just....

[And he stops, his expression creased, sort of crushed.]

[Hate this but Sakyou is a much more tactile person when drunk, so he is immediately reaching out to hold Mandricardo's face in his little demon hands when he sees that horrible expression.]

What is it, then? You can't feel them...? Some of them? All of them?

[Well, he's still got Some emotions in there, perhaps.]

...Can you stop?

[He looks a bit more distressed with that, more confused with the way that the other is holding his face. Like Sakyou is touching on a vulnerable soft spot that hurts too much to be ignored.]

Are you like...concerned? Is this what this is?

[He's frowning, but he pulls his hands away, even if he looks more openly distraught about it than he normally would. Drunkenly still, but also insistently:]

Of course I am. Why would I not be? You look upset and you're covered in blood, and something's going on that I don't understand...

I look upset...?

[Mandricardo just stands, and he just...peers at the other's face. Trying to understand.]

...I'm sorry if I worried you. [And he really seems to mean it, his mouth turned into a frown.] I mean, being worried is a sign you're my friend, right? So...thanks for...worrying. I guess.

[HE'S JUST LOOKING SO DISTRESSED. PLEASE, HIS BRAINCELLS. He looks like he wants to reach out again but he stops himself, and instead, after a second, he just crouches down like being closer to the ground will help with anything.]

I have no idea what's happening. [HELP. HELP!!] Why is that even a question? Why would you think that we aren't friends?

No, I just...I know how friends should act, and this is like...yeah. Friends should act like this? The way you act towards me is how friends should be.

[He's not sure?]

[From his new home on the dirt, which he's now just sitting in:]

Yes, I am. I care about you very much... But I don't know what to do about this. I know it will wear off, like everything else, but...

[Still, he's not a fan of any of this!! He's sure Mandricardo isn't, either!! Probably!]

[He just goes to lie down next to him on the dirt.]

[This is what friends do, right?]

[Yes, absolutely. Welcome to the dirt! He's just going to flop onto his back too and then slightly turn his head in Mandricardo's direction, but otherwise not move much.]

Whatever is happening. Whatever happened to you back then that made... this - whatever is going on - happen.

I don't know what you're talking about?

[He'll just reach over to gently pet over the other's head, before trailing his fingers in his hair.]

A lot of things are confusing, honestly...

[He seems to appreciate it in the way tactile intoxicated people do, even though he's still looking VERY DISTRESSED. And still confused. He's also confused! Matchies.]

What do you mean? What sorts of things?

[duranduel]

[He's actually silent for a moment, just threading through his hair. Nice and softly. He does seem to be self-conscious about this, frowning, but he finally gets the nerve to speak.]

...It feels like I'm looking at everyone through like...frosted glass. And they're makin' gestures or sayin' things, but...I don't get it.

[NOW HE'S STARTING TO FEEL SLEEPY but that's also partially because he's just been running on adrenaline for hours... Even though they're just in the dirt of the garden on the eve of Die Day, and they're both clearly not in their right minds, he can feel himself calming down a little.

His brow furrows at the description, though. Hm! That sounds terrible, actually.]

...I can understand, then, why that would be confusing.

Yeah. But I'm trying my best.

[He just sighs, leaning in to lean his head against the other's shoulder.]

Hm. [...] But you're acting oddly, yourself. I don't understand why, though.

Mm... Let me know what can be done to help, if anything, yes?

[A moment of clear speaking in his general muddle-headedness and slurring... He reaches up, hesitating for a second before gently petting Mandricardo's head where it rests against his shoulder. Very matter-of-factly:]

I'm cursed. [He's triple-cursed actually.] And also drunk. It's fine.

Okay. I don't want to bother you, though. I think that makes people annoyed if they get bothered too much?

[Oh. And a pet. He shifts to lean more into that.]

Good to know. [He's sincere about saying that! Now he knows!] Cursed with what?
